The Cat Den

There is music in the upstairs bedroom - a reggae beat by the sound of it - and the curtains are drawn, with only a small stream of streetlamp light shining through.
The air is smoky and two cats lie on their hammocks with their paws drawn out in slumberous pose.... they lie exhausted and spaced out after their morning delivery of herbal cat skunk.

They have fought each other for possession of the stuffed sock and once in receipt of said sock, they have rolled, twirled, purred, nudged their langorous bodies up and down the sock, slobbered all over the sock and played with it up and down the stairs to their hearts content.
